About the authors: Omar Vizquel, is the starting shortstop for the Cleveland Indians. He is well known for his spectacular fielding, clutch hitting, smart baserunning . . . and his quick wit around the clubhouse. He has a remarkable streak of nine consecutive Gold Glove awards for fielding excellence (an American League record), he has been selected for two All Star teams, and has appeared in two World Series. Bob Dyer, is a features writer and columnist for the Akron Beacon Journal. Since joining that paper in 1984, he has won 17 regional and national writing awards. In 1993, he was one of the lead writers for a yearlong series that won a Pulitzer Prize.
