A favorite among players on many top college and pro teams, The McDavid Cowboy Collar is an advanced neck roll system that incorporates a molded collar of resilient closed-cell polyethylene foam and a padded vest into one product. When worn with regular shoulder pads, the Cowboy Collar helps absorb shock by engaging the sides and back of helmet, instead of the bottom of the helmet like traditional neck rolls. This reduces restriction and produces a cantilever effect rather than the fulcrum effect found with some football neck rolls.
