1955 Mitchell & Ness Brooklyn Dodger Jersey Authentic Cooperstown CollectionThough this jersey would be carried over well into the sixties in LA, it was first worn in Brooklyn in 1952 as baseball's first uniform top to feature a number on the front. Three years later in 1955, it was the home jersey of Brooklyn's only World Series crown. Part of the prestigious Cooperstown Authentic Collection, this wool blend jersey is carefully reproduced to the specifications of that era. Solid off-white body with the renowned "Dodgers" felt script logo sewn across the front in blue with the uniform number sewn in red. The player number is also sewn on the back. Available in two jersey numbers, # 4 or 42. # 4 was worn by the Duke, while # 42 was donned by Major League Baseball's first African-American player. Dry Clean only.
