Adult Baseball Bat Terminologies:
BESR: Acronym for "Ball Exit Speed Ratio". Manufacturers must submit all non-wood, adult baseball bats to the Baseball Research Facility at The University of Massachusetts Lowell. Once the bat has passed the BESR test in the laboratory, and provided it has an acceptable MOI (moment-of-inertia), the bat model is cleared to bear the "BESR Certified" stamp on the barrel. This label is clearly imprinted on all adult baseball bats featured above.
Drop Ratio: The differential between the weight of the bat and its length. Unlike other age category of baseball bats that have varying drop ratios, all non-wood, adult baseball bats may not be lighter than -3. Thus, all 34" adult baseball bats must weigh 31 oz., a 33" bat must weigh 30 oz., etc.

Note:
Most adult baseball bats carry a limited warranty backed by the manufacturer, and will vary from model to model. Warranty issues will usually be resolved between buyer and the manufacturer.
